Document fraud is of concern to law enforcement agencies as well as to many financial institutions as terrorists and other criminals often travel on fake or fraudulently obtained identification documents and use counterfeited certificates, cheques, shares, seals and banknotes to achieve their goals. TrueScan is the latest development detecting counterfeiting, adulteration and modification of banknotes, checks and security documents in general. TrueScan is a RISC microcontroller security analyzer based on a mouse shaped instrument which generates infrared, ultraviolet and visible light in various forms; a special optically enhanced camera integrated in the mouse allows quick and user-friendly analysis of documents, visas, banknotes, product labels, seals, etc. TrueScan system consists of the TrueScan Mouse which can either be connected to a standard surveillance CRT or LCD monitor as well as to TV or to a PC.
